Ruby Sweater

details

  • The Ruby Sweater is an elegant, off-the-shoulder sweater.

The design is knitted from top to bottom. First, stitches are cast on for the shoulders, then a ribbing is knitted in to secure the sweater at shoulder height. The rest of the shoulder section is then either knitted in stockinette stitch or knitted in stockinette stitch on the back using turning stitches. This ensures that the shoulder section will appear in stockinette stitch on the outside when it is later folded over. Then raglan increases are worked to form the armholes, and the arm stitches are then put on hold. Next, knit in stockinette stitch in rounds until you reach the ribbed cuff, which is worked with a one-sided slit in a 2x2 rib pattern. The sleeves are also knitted in stockinette stitch in rounds until you reach the ribbed cuff.
