  • The New Beginnings Top is part of the New Beginnings series. A design collection that aims to make it as easy as possible for aspiring knitters to get started in the world of knitting.

    The detailed instructions guide you step by step through the basic techniques of knitting with the help of a video tutorial. Each step is shown to you in detail. In no time at all, you will be holding your first (knitted) masterpiece in your hands.

    The knitting kit also includes everything you need for your first knitting project. The right yarn in your desired color, detailed instructions, a video tutorial, knitting needles, and OONIQUE accessories.

  • These instructions cover sizes XS (S), M (L), and XL (XXL).

    These fit a chest circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm on your own body.

    So, for example, if your chest measurement is 93 cm, choose size M.

    The top has an oversized cut and therefore fits very loosely on the body.

    The model in the photo is wearing size S and has a bust measurement of 87 cm.

  • The New Beginnings Top (Vegan Edition) is knitted from Lana Grossa's Promessa yarn.

    Composition: 70% organic cotton, 30% polyamide (recycled)

    The top in the photos was knitted in the color "14 - Cream."

  • 5 mm circular knitting needle (60 cm)

    3.5 mm double-pointed needles

    (both included in the knit set)

  • Knitting projects usually start with a gauge swatch to ensure the correct fit of the knitted piece.

    However, since the oversized cut of the New Beginnings Top (Vegan Edition) means that it doesn't matter if it turns out a little larger or smaller, we have decided to omit the gauge swatch for these instructions as an exception, so that you can start your first knitting adventure directly with the top itself and not with a gauge swatch.

    This makes it possible to learn the various techniques (casting on, knit and purl stitches, binding off, and reading the stitch pattern) slowly, one after the other, as you knit, rather than all at once.

    If you are already an experienced knitter and would like to knit the top using a gauge swatch:

    10 x 10 cm = 20 sts x 33 rows in stockinette stitch using 5 mm needles (measured after washing and drying)
